finding JOY in the chaos
feeling burnt out? I got you.
Hey friends. Liv here.
I’ve been listening to your feedback and need to talk to you all about LIFE!
Let’s be real for a second: life as a young adult in the city is chaotic. Between work, relationships, and everything else, it can feel like you’re constantly juggling. But that doesn’t mean you can’t find moments of joy throughout your day. Here are some simple ways to stay positive, balance the grind, and make time for yourself—even when life is busy.
Start Your Day with Purpose
We’ve all had those mornings where we rush out the door, barely awake. But starting your day with even just a few minutes of quiet time—whether it’s stretching, a cup of coffee, or a quick walk—can set a better tone for the rest of your day. It’s a small way to start on the right foot, even if everything else feels like a blur.
Take Quick Breaks
You know those moments when you’re knee-deep in work and everything starts to feel like it’s piling up? That’s when it’s time for a break. Every couple of hours, step away for a few minutes. Walk around the block, grab a snack, or just listen to a song you like. It doesn’t need to be a long break—just enough to reset and refocus. A little pause can make a big difference.
Make Time to Connect
With everything going on, it’s easy to forget to check in with the people around you. But staying connected is key to keeping your energy up. Whether it’s a quick text to a friend, grabbing lunch with a colleague, or calling your mom (you know I love a facetime with grandpa Lyle)—those interactions are reminders that you’re not alone in this.
Prioritize Self-Care
Self-care doesn’t always mean face masks and bubble baths (although those are nice). It’s about doing what works for you. That could be hitting the gym after work, taking 10 minutes to meditate, or just sitting down with a book you’ve been meaning to read. Take time to check in with yourself and do something that helps you recharge. Don’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself—it’s necessary.
Routine Refresh

The best sunscreen (just as important!)
My fav moisturizer (for guys and gals!)
Be Present
With so much going on, it’s easy to rush through the day and miss the small moments. But sometimes, the best moments come from being present in what’s happening right now. Whether it’s enjoying a meal, chatting with a friend, or even just taking in the view on your walk home—take a minute to appreciate what’s happening in the moment. It’s a simple way to stay grounded.
Set Boundaries
We all have a lot going on, but that doesn’t mean you have to say “yes” to everything. Setting clear boundaries—whether it’s with work or with social commitments—gives you space to take care of your own needs. It’s important to protect your time and energy so you can show up for the things that really matter.
End Your Day on a Positive Note
Before bed, take a minute to think about something good that happened during your day. It could be anything—a conversation you had, a task you crossed off your list, or something that made you smile. Focusing on the positive, even if it’s small, can help you end your day on a good note.
Balancing work, life, and relationships can be a lot, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find little moments of happiness along the way. So, take a step back, focus on what’s working, weed out what’s not, and make sure you’re taking CARE of yourself in the process!!
yours truly,
Liv
